Looking back....

A couple of weeks ago Emery's mom visited from Georgia and we decided to take a quick road trip up north.  If you have been following my blog then you are aware that we have had some struggles lately with my son and the emotions in our home have been on high.

So the 48 hours together was peaceful and restorative.  We stayed in Yountville and visited a couple of wineries.  My favorite place was the garden for the French Laundry restaurant.  I was more excited about seeing the swiss chard than the restaurant.  (no we did not eat there)

We ate lunch in Sonoma  and meandered around that cute town for quite some time.  Love that place!

Our last night we were able to walk from our little hotel to our restaurant through the small village of Yountville.  It felt like we were back in 1950.....not that I would know what that was like then...but I can imagine....okay :)

Thank you God for this memorable time with my husband.  I appreciated some of the words of wisdom he filled me with.

  2. Oh my goodness....I love the wine country ;-) That chard is beautiful. The French Laundry was closed when we visited a couple of years back...boo. Apparently they close every year in July. Glad you got a get away with your husband. You are adorable!

  3. What a nice getaway for the two of you! I go to the Grove School's farmer's market on Saturdays sometimes, and Three Sisters Farm always has the nicest chard!
