Resting in Memory Monday

Monday came VERY fast for me.....especially after a busy weekend.  I AGREE with my friend Meredith about her post this morning.  It spoke to my heart on all levels.  Please visit her blog.....she writes from the heart and draws you in.

Stay with me as I am all over the place this morning with my thoughts.  I have always DREAMED of visiting Maine.  It just happens to be on the other side of the country from where I live....but I plan on getting there someday.  Seeking out my "dream" place..... I came upon these adorable cottages and now more than ever have a reason to visit.  Imagine sitting in Adirondack chairs...... reading, praying, and RESTING.  Thankfully I am able to rest anywhere that God is......He meets my needs right where I am.

I am slowing down this morning......to memorize a new Bible verse for Memory Monday.

I am first quoting from Growing Strong in the Seasons of life, p.333

Jesus promised people "rest" if they would come to Him, not an endless list of unrealistic expectations.

MEMORY VERSE........

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:28 NIV

  1. Good Morning Jen. :o)
That certainly was a good post.
We have always tried to balance chaos and keep running to a minimum. But there are days that just do not allow for such things. And I can appreciate the simple days even more after spending a hectic one. :o)
I absolutely love the verse that you are committing to memory.
I so rarely delve into the Psalms, and have been reading them more often lately. There is such a depth and honesty from those who poured their hearts out to God, in them.
    Have a fantastic week!
    Sincerely, Trish

  2. Slowing down and reading God's beautiful words is definitely the best way we can spend some time in our busy days. I love that simple verse and how He reminds us that He will give us rest if we just come to Him.

  3. Oh, that is just what I need right now! Thanks for giving me that reminder that God will give me rest, when I won't give it to myself.

And as for Maine, take me!! Those cottages are heaven on earth, and I might find myself unable to leave if I ever get to them. A man from Maine called at work yesterday and I told him I have always wanted to see his state. He recommended that I not come right now, as the weather is nasty. Shall we shoot for summer?
