Moments in a Day...

I prefer quiet days and a simple lifestyle. I notice that my family functions better at a slower pace and I take time to notice moments that I know I will never get back. However....as we all know..."real" life is not always on slow speed.......and we have to adjust to what comes our way. The last two days I went non-stop from one event to the next. I really try to leave blank areas on my calendar so I will have "down" time if possible. I am the type of person that has to recharge before I can go out into the real world again. I am asking God for help in this area....so I don't feel so overwhelmed when my days are full. I sense His guidance and will continue to seek His plan for me.

Today I was able to play "restaurant" with my son and it warmed my heart. He and I sitting on the floor in his room with all the colorful, play food and dishes. I also had freshly baked cookies for my Katie girl when she got home from school. It put a smile on her face. These are the moments I treasure and want to always remember. Thank you God for your blessings and may I continue to be grateful for them all.

  1. Hi Jennifer.

Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog earlier. I'm so glad you "meet" you.

I loved this post. I crave simplicity and a slow pace of life. But like you said, that's not always the way it goes. Last night, we pulled the plug on going to church b/c our kids had SO much homework. We could have pushed ourselves to get it done and get there on time, but we've learned over the years that slowing down is best for our family...even if it means saying no to good things.

You're making me want to bake some cookies for my kids to have when they get home from school! I think I have a bag of chocolate chips in the pantry!
