Encouragement leads to blessings
-to inspire (someone) with the courage or confidence (to do something)
In my quiet time lately the word....... ENCOURAGEMENT has come to me. This is something I really like to do....encourage others. However....I am not sure I have been doing this and I asked God to put someone in my pathway. Hello!! Am I encouraging my family? I think I am.....but I am ashamed to write that maybe I encourage others easily....but somehow my family misses out. Ouch! I want to put them first. So last night when I couldn't sleep.....an idea came to me. (don't they always seem to appear when we are quiet and God finally has our attention) I will share later after I have followed through with it for a few days. It is so simple....to bless our family.....and it doesn't take a lot of money or a degree.....just some thought, time and our presence.
I have been ENCOURAGED by the book Organized Simplicity. I have slowly implemented this clutter-free approach style of living. Honestly I have a long way to go.....but I plan on staying with it. I like to think of myself as organized....but there are areas of my home that I wouldn't take a photo of and share with you. No way! I may do a before and after......but I am not there, yet. This past weekend I had some time to do something quick....that I knew would make a difference and wouldn't take a lot of time. I decided to clean out my make-up drawer and under my bathroom sink. I wanted to use what I already had.....scrapbook/contact paper and containers. This is just a small part of what I plan to do....and I know it will bless my family, as well. Thankfully I am going for it and I will post as I complete more.
Hopefully I have encouraged you to do something new or possibly be an encouragement to someone else.
Would love to hear your responses.

Oh.....I also have another way I am being called out of my comfort zone to encourage others.....but that is for another post that I hopefully will organize in my thoughts and go forward with it soon.

I think I will need more than 10 days. |
added gingham paper and threw away a lot of stuff I didn't use. |
added scrapbook paper and sealed with contact paper. Covered pipe with burlap. |

ReplyDeleteYou are a constant source of encouragement to me, if that helps you any!
I love your tidy bathroom pics and feel encouraged :-) to tackle my disorganized drawers! Don't know if I will actually get to them anytime soon, but I will feel the tug, then eventually get fed up and DO IT! I will have YOU to thank for my pristine drawers (sounds weird, huh?)
Hugs!!

I'm going to need that book. I keep thinking I need to be more simplified too. Love that your starting slowly and getting things organized. It makes me want to as well.
ReplyDeleteI am going through the same process with our many drawers now. I love the touch of the gingham pattern (my favorite!). I may have to include some color now. Thanks for the inspiration!
